Spring Musical

Kindergarten and First graders will be performing the Spring Musical on Wednesday, May 1 at 7pm. The muscial will be held at Schlagle H.S. Looking forward to a great show!

Spring Break Work Packet

Students will bring home a spring break work packet on Monday, March 10th. This packet contains enough pages that students can do several pages this week for their homework and still have work to do over spring break. Please do not return the completed packet until Monday, March 24th.

Make-Up Conferences

Don't forget make-up conferences are this week. You should have received a conference time yesterday in your child's purple folder. If for some reason you can't make it to the assigned time please call me at 913-627-7034 to reschedule. I look forward to meeting with you!

Spring and Class Pictures

Don't forget today is Spring and Class picture day! If you want to buy pictures be sure to return the money and order form today!

Make Up Day for Conferences

We will be making up conferences on Wednesday, February 26 from 2pm-8pm. There will be a new conference time preference sheet that will in your child's purple folder this week. Please mark your top 3 choices and I will do my best to give you a time you want. Also remember I assign times on a first come, first serve basis so please return your form ASAP! 

In addition, if Wednesday will not work for you I will have limited time available on both Tuesday and Thursday of that same week you can also mark that on the preference sheet.

Family Advocacy Conferences

Due to the snow days we had to cancel FAS conferences. As soon as the district makes a decision about when we will make-up those days I will let you know.

Family Advocacy Conferences

This week we will be holding our Family Advocacy Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. Please be looking for a conference reminder in your child's purple folder and again on Wednesday in their backpack folder. If for some reason you cannot make your assigned conference time please contact me so we can work out another time for you to come. I can be reached at 913-627-7034. 

WInter Party!! It is Time to Celebrate Winter!

We will be having our Winter party on Thursday, December 19 at 3:15pm. If you have signed up to bring something please be sure to have it to school by 12 noon on Thursday. Thanks for your help and generosity. 

Holidays Around the World

On Wednesday, December 18 we will be spending the day exploring Holidays Around the World. Students will rotate around to 4 different classrooms and explore how 4 other countries celebrate different holidays around this time of year. 

Thankful...

As I prepare to return to school after Thanksgiving break I just want to take a moment and tell you how thankful I am for your children. I feel truly honored and blessed to get to teach your child each and everyday. I am thankful for each and every one of them and the joy they bring to my life.

PTA

Please consider joining are PTA. The PTA at Hazel Grove is a wonderful way to work with other parents and teachers to do wonderful things at Hazel Grove. You will be receiving a membership form in your child's purple folder today return the form and $5 to join. The PTA will be meeting tomorrow evening Tuesday, September 17th at 6pm.

Also you will be receiving a flyer/pledge sheet for our Hazel Grove Elementary Walk-A-Thon that the PTA sponsors which will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 5-7pm.

Coins for Kids

Hazel Grove is raising money for Children's Mercy Hospital. Students, staff, and parents are being asked to donate their spare change. The class that raises the most money will be rewarded with a pizza party! We'll be collecting from now until Friday, September 27th. Bring in those coins!!!

Kindergarten Parent Meeting

You are invited to attend the kindergarten parent meeting on Monday, September 9 from 6:30-7:15. I am looking forward to discussing the expectations for this year and answering any questions you may have.

Welcome Hazel Grove Kindergarten Parents and Students!

I am so excited to be beginning another school year at Hazel Grove Elementary! As you can see this is our classroom blog. Shoe Tying

Unfortunately, with all the learning we have to do at school I do not have time to teach your child how to tie their shoes. I am finding that many students are getting hurt because their shoes are not tied and this is a safety issue. Please take the time to work with your child and help them learn to tie their shoes a skill they will use the rest of their lives.
